Music at St. Mary's

"Come, let us sing joyfully to the Lord; cry out to the rock of our salvation." Psalm 95:1

The Music Ministry's purpose is to: Praise God in song. Lead and support the assembly in their active participation at Sunday Eucharist. Foster a sense of community and shared prayer. Emphasize teachings and concepts from the scriptures. Touch the heart in a way that words alone cannot. Expose our parish community to different styles of liturgical music, maintaining our links to the traditions of the Church through the ages and presenting fresh music from our time.  Each weekend two music groups or choirs minister at Mass. The 4:30 p.m. Saturday Vigil Mass is where you can hear the Folk Choir, which does many styles, but with an emphasis on the contemporary and rhythmic, incorporating drums, guitars, and other instrumentalists. 10:00 a.m. Sunday morning has the Mixed Choir which also does many traditional and modern songs. Other Masses are led by cantors and the organist. The Children's Choir, which is made up of St. Mary Campus students, sing at the Wednesday morning mass during the school year. The Women's Choir sings at all Funeral Masses and Memorial Services at St. Mary. We are always looking for new members to any and all of our choir groups.  If you would like more information please call the parish office manager at 419-447-2087 or you can email our Music Director (here)
